In Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, the concession to operate public facilities etc. for sewerage is under discussion.
The project was triggered by a CFMP concession applicability study by the Area Revitalization Support Program of Toyo University.
CFMP (Comprehensive Facilities Management Plan) is a type of comprehensive management consignment system focusing on preventive maintenance. The plan has been introduced primarily in the United States and has proven to be effective.
Miura City has decided to introduce the concession to operate public facilities etc. as a method to manage sewerage facilities in a comprehensive manner, referring to the concept of CFMP.
The project is a cutting-edge initiative in that this is the Japan’s first concession to operate a public sewerage system including sewer culverts and is considered to be a leading example in a small municipality with a population of about 41,000.
